Introducing Doug Stay as Director, Electronic Research Administration

Today, Monday, June 17, 2019, we welcome Doug Stay to the Office of Research team as Director, Electronic Research Administration (eRA). In his role, Doug will oversee the research administration systems that are used to electronically conduct research administration processes and transactions for the university.

Doug brings knowledge, skills and experience in finance, operations, grants management (pre & post award) and software implementation to our team. He has experience working in academic and non-profit organizations.

Doug's prior roles include Senior Managing Director, Finance and Operations Strategy and Senior Managing Director, Grants and Contracts with Teach for America. In these roles, he delivered vision, leadership and specialized knowledge of finance and operations to drive and track business performance and move multi-year, organization-wide strategic initiatives forward to streamline, modernize, and enhance organizational performance. This includes serving as project lead and subject matter expert for an ambitious ERP implementation lifecycle, including Workday Financials, Workday Procurement, and Workday Grants. He built a collaborative, results-driven grants & contracts office from the ground up, including a cohesive team structure, comprehensive management reporting tools, policies & procedures, organization-wide policy training and change management strategies, and communication structures for internal and external partners.

Prior to Teach for America, Doug worked at Massachusetts General Hospital in Financial and Administrative Operations at the Edwin L. Steele Laboratory and Boston Children's Hospital as Grants Manager, Radiology.

We are excited to welcome him as an experienced leader in grants administration, system implementation and change management to our team. We believe that Doug will contribute a lot to the Office of Research's success and improvement as we seek to better serve the research enterprise.
