Research Security Training

Research security training is mandated for individuals involved in federally funded research by U.S. federal regulations such as the CHIPS and Science Act and National Security Presidential Memorandum 33 (NSPM-33).

The U.S. National Science Foundation, in partnership with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Department of Energy (DoE) and the Department of Defense (DoD), developed four online research security training modules for the research community that center on the following four critical questions:

  1. What is research security and why is it an important issue?
  2. What is a disclosure policy and how will it be used?
  3. What actions can federally funded research recipients take to manage and mitigate risk?
  4. Is international collaboration encouraged?

These four federal training modules have been released and are available for institutions to adapt and use, Drexel in the interim will utilize these trainings.

Research Security Training is available via this link. When you complete the module, please download or print a completion certificate, as the module will not save a record of your training.
