Yury Gogotsi, PhD, Distinguished University and Bach professor in the College of Engineering, and Babak Anasori, PhD, a research assistant professor in the College, were quoted in a Sept. 27 Digital Trends story about their development of spray-applied MXene antennas. This research was also featured in a Sept. 28 Textile Evolutionstory.

David S. Cohen, JD, a professor in the Kline School of Law, was quoted in a Sept. 25 Legal Intelligencer article about the Pennsylvania Supreme Court hearing a case that will decide whether women who abuse drugs during their pregnancies can be punished, under state law, as child abusers. Cohen is a lead attorney on the case.

Daniel M. Filler, JD, dean of the Kline School of Law, was quoted in a Sept. 24 New York Times article about today’s Bill Cosby sentencing. Filler was also quoted in the Washington Post, ABC News, CBS-Philly and various other outlets in regards to the case’s optics and potential outcomes.

Renee Turchi, MD, a professor in the College of Medicine and associate professor in the Dornsife School of Public Health, was quoted in a Sept. 24 Philadelphia Inquirer story about a report she co-authored, which found that alcohol-related birth disorders are far more common than previously believed.

Alex Ezeh, PhD, an associate professor in the Dornsife School of Public Health, authored a Sept. 23 opinion piece for Quartz about rapid population growth in Africa and how it is going to affect education and public health.

Westphal College’s Virtual Reality Block Party, was featured in a Sept. 21 KYW-TV (CBS-3) newscast. The event, hosted by Westphal’s Immersive Reality Lab, featured a number of virtual reality games, simulations and student projects.

Paula Marantz Cohen, PhD, dean of the Pennoni Honor College and distinguished teaching professor in the College of Arts and Sciences, wrote an op-ed that was published in The Wall Street Journal on Sept. 21 about the assumption these days that people are monolithic—either completely good or completely bad. The best way to repudiate that assumption, according to Cohen, is to study the humanities, which illuminate human life in all its complexity.
