Philly Insect Museum Heist Reveals Bugs are Hot Items on Black Market

Karen Verderame, curator of Entomology at the Academy of Natural Sciences, was quoted in a Sept. 5 Philadelphia Inquirer story about a theft from the Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion and the existence of a very active exotic insect black market. The story was also picked up by The Toronto Star and other regional outlets.
