Law Building, Room 140
The Drexel Justice Collaborative is hosting a book talk and moderated discussion featuring Associate Professor of Criminology/Criminal Justice and Law, Sarah Lageson, an expert on technology, surveillance and data privacy in the criminal legal system at Northeastern University School of Law. Professor Lageson will present her research on how private data companies use flawed criminal justice data, creating "automated injustices" that harm employment and housing opportunities. The research finds that even automatic expungement laws fail to remove records from private databases, perpetuating systemic inequalities.
