Biography
Tiffani D. Hurst is a habeas defense attorney who recently earned her PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy from Drexel University’s School of Education. Her dissertation focuses on the educational needs of exonerees, with a particular emphasis on statutory equity and reentry support. Professor Hurst has dedicated most of her legal career to capital habeas defense, serving in the Federal Public Defender’s Offices in both Delaware and Nevada. She has also practiced criminal defense, employment law, and immigration law in Massachusetts. Dr. Hurst holds a B.A. in Political Science and Black Studies from Wellesley College, a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, an M.S. in Special Education from Drexel University, and an M.Ed. from Springfield College. She has served as an adjunct professor at both Springfield College and Elms College.
