Kline Graduate Programs Virtual Career Office
Our Virtual Career Office — accessible through our Blackboard Learn Community — serves all Master of Legal Studies and Certificate students, as well as online LLM students. The VCO is dedicated to helping students in our graduate programs reach their career goals. Here’s how it works.
1. Dynamic Bulletin Board
Students and alumni can view job postings, access Linkedln, Handshake and Symplicity (a legal employment portal), and register for conferences. This also serves as a portal to articles, podcasts and other online resources that give them a head-start on employment in the field. The Bulletin Board is accessible at any time.
2. Virtual Career Classroom
Next, students enroll in a seven-week, self-paced course run by two seasoned online professors with extensive contacts in the legal and compliance communities. Its highly engaging and interactive exercises help students develop their online professional profiles, build professional networks, prepare elevator pitches, tweak resumes, search for jobs and more.
3. One-on-One Coaching
Students who unlock this area get feedback from their professors, mentors and alumni, who help them review resumes, prep for and engage in mock interviews, and create web portfolios.
4. Employer Connections
Our faculty and alumni have extensive connections in their fields. Students are introduced to individuals in the industry as well as organizations and are given access to alumni and faculty directories.
