Admissions Requirements

Regardless of your level of experience — whether you’re just out of high school, looking to complete your degree after some time away, or ready to further your expertise at the graduate or professional level — a Drexel education will position you for success and help you to achieve your goals.

A completed application and all required supplemental documents (e.g., official transcripts, official test scores, and portfolio) must be submitted before your application deadline.

Admissions Criteria by Program

BS in Interdisciplinary Professional Studies (On-Campus)

Drexel’s admission office takes a holistic approach when reviewing transfer applications into the BS in Interdisciplinary Professional Studies. Many factors are considered when reviewing applicants' files, including the full range of their academic achievements, which takes into consideration GPA, most recent coursework, major, professional and military experience, and essay. All applicants are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and students can request a preliminary transfer credit evaluation before applying.

Admissions Criteria

  • Minimum of 24 transfer credits
  • 2.5 GPA of previous college-level learning from an accredited institution

Non-matriculated students are required to have a high school diploma or GED equivalency. International students must provide a copy of their I-20 from their current institution to enroll as a non-matriculated student.

BS in Interdisciplinary Professional Studies (Online)

Admissions Criteria

  • Transfer Students:
    • A minimum of 24 previous college semester credits (36 quarter credits) with a grade of C or better from a regionally accredited institution
    • GPA of 2.5 or above
  • First-Year Students
    • Between 0 – 23 previous college semester credits from a regionally accredited institution
    • Must have earned a high school diploma or GED
  • Non-Matriculated Option
    • Drexel University also offers a non-matriculated option, where you can take courses without being enrolled in a degree-granting program.

Admissions Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or an equivalent international institution
  • GPA of 3.0 or above

  • Two professional letters of recommendation (three preferred)
  • Personal statement (minimum 500 words) describing your interest in the program:
    • Why you're interested in the nonprofit sector
    • How the program will help facilitate your future career goals
    • How you'll contribute to the program and your peers

Interviews are not required but may be requested, either in person, by phone or via Zoom.

First-Year Exploratory Studies Program

Continuing Professional Education

You do not need to be a Drexel student to register for a Continuing Professional Education course, nor are there application requirements to enter the program. Visit the Continuing Professional Education section to register for courses.

Non-Matriculated Students

If you would like to take courses at Goodwin College before enrolling in a degree program, you can enter as a non-matriculated student. Non-matriculated applicants are considered part-time and are permitted to schedule a maximum of 11.5 undergraduate quarter credits. Please follow the procedures noted for non-degree students on the Drexel Part-Time Undergraduate Admissions website.

Goodwin College supports non-matriculated students who:

  • Hold a high school diploma or GED equivalency from more than two years ago
  • Have prior non-Drexel college experience seeking a Drexel degree
  • Earn less than 12 credits per quarter

In order to be considered for admission into a Drexel University degree program, non-matriculated students may need to earn up to 24 Drexel credits total.

Note: Non-matriculated international students must provide a copy of their I-20 from their current institution to enroll as a non-degree student.

Federal and State Financial Aid is not available to non-matriculated students.
