Fredo Lafabuleuz | Gabon Frédéric Melchissedek Obiang Mbah has more than five years of experience in civic engagement. Frédéric Melchissedek is general secretary of Santé Plus Pro Humanitus and permanent secretary of the SAFE SPACE program in Libreville, Gabon. He focuses on preventing sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS among key populations and promoting the rights of the LGBTQI+ community. He also works as a community health worker in care centers for people living with HIV/AIDS, and he is an awareness agent and trainer for LGBTQI+ people on sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, and self-esteem. Frédéric Melchissedek is pursuing his master's degree in British Literature and Civilization. He is passionate about civic engagement and being at the center of the battle for gay rights to put an end to stigma and to help others. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Frédéric Melchissedek plans to fully commit to activism in the defense of LGBTQI+ rights to eradicate stigma and to legalize homosexuality in Gabon. He also plans to continue to fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS by using SAFE SPACE as a hub.
