Financial Aid Distribution

The categories below describe how tuition and fees are billed and how the different types of financial aid are distributed to full-time undergraduate students based on their standard plan of study.

Class Terms

Charges

Tuition – Full-time tuition rate billed to students

Fees – General University fees billed to students

Funding

Drexel Financial Aid Awards – Students are eligible for these awards during class terms; the per term amount remains the same for each of the 12 terms of a student's undergraduate program.

Federal Financial Aid Awards – Students are eligible for federal financial aid awards during both class and co-op terms and are awarded based on the terms of enrollment for the academic year.

Pennsylvania State Financial Aid Awards (PA State Grant) – The standard PA State Grant is applicable only to fall, winter, and spring terms of class enrollment. Students who are registered during the summer for classes can apply separately for a summer PA State Grant.

Private Education Loans – Drexel certifies private education loans on an annual basis to pay over class terms only.

Co-op Terms

Tuition – Not billed to students during co-op terms

Fees – General University fees billed to students during co-op

Funding

Drexel Financial Aid Awards – Students are ineligible for these awards during co-op terms.

Federal Financial Aid Awards – Students are eligible for federal financial aid awards during both class and co-op terms and are awarded based on the terms of enrollment for the academic year.

Pennsylvania State Financial Aid Awards (PA State Grant) – Students are ineligible for these awards during co-op terms.

Private Education Loans – Drexel certifies private education loans on an annual basis to pay over class terms only.

Drexel does have an eligibility exception policy for graduating seniors in their final two terms of enrollment. Please see the Senior Exception for Institutional Financial Aid Eligibility for more information.
