Understanding FERPA
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. As a result, the University may be unable to discuss a student's account or educational information with anyone other than the student unless a FERPA Waiver is on file.
Students who wish to grant a parent, guardian, spouse, or another individual access to their information must complete a FERPA Waiver. Without this authorization, University staff may be restricted from sharing account details or discussing the student's records.
For more information about Drexel's FERPA policy and instructions on granting access, visit FERPA.
