April 27, 2026

Drexel Magazine’s latest edition highlights 40 Under 40 Drexel alumni who took full advantage of the university's renowned experiential education opportunities to fuel their careers and make meaningful change.
The Dornsife School of Public Health is proud of our three alums featured this year: Viren Doshi, Edwin McCulley, and Allyson Pinkhover.
Viren Doshi, BS in Biological Sciences ’10, JD ’16, MPH in Health Management and Policy ’16
Corporate Counsel and Compliance Officer, Silver Cross Health System
Drexel Magazine writes that Viren Doshi's experiences at Drexel "were key to getting him to where he is now, with the dual-degree program in law and public health helping to open professional doors."
Viren gives credit to faculty including JD-MPH program director Robert Field, PhD, MPH, JD and Drexel’s co-op program and practical experiences for helping him to bring his career aspirations to life.
“Drexel has extremely strong connections to help students get internships, co-ops and other experiential opportunities,” he affirms. “Without those opportunities, I would not have been able to get to where I am.”

Edwin McCulley, BS in Health Sciences ’18, MS in Epidemiology ’20, PhD in Epidemiology '25
Associate Principal Scientist in Epidemiology, Merck
Edwin McCulley's training at the Dornsife School of Public Health "emphasized applied research and the importance of translating research into real-world outcomes," writes Drexel Magazine.
Edwin credits mentors such as Usama Bilal, MD, PhD, MPH, and Gina Lovasi, PhD, MPH, for helping him work across disciplines and communicate complex ideas clearly. “That experience really made the transition into industry much more natural, because the focus was always on producing work that was both rigorous and useful in real-world settings,” he says.

Allyson Pinkhover, MPH '16
Director of Substance Use Services, Brockton Neighborhood Health Center
Allyson Pinkhover says that her Master’s in Public Health from Drexel Dornsife, combined with experiences like volunteering at Salvation Army's Eliza Shirley House, shaped her approach to human-centered health care.
Working with people who use drugs and those experiencing homelessness can be challenging, she told Drexel Magazine, but through public health practice she learned to "interact with the community and work with people, as opposed to working at them.”
Her time at Dornsife helped shape her values and strengthen her focus on health as a human right. “Other schools give you training in public health, but in [Dornsife's] program the emphasis on human rights was extraordinary."
