CPHRC Presents Findings on the Disaster Communication Needs of Children With Special Health Care Needs at APHA

November 4, 2019 — On behalf of the Center for Public Health Readiness and Communication, Leah Popek and Rachel Seitz presented a poster at the 2019 APHA Conference held in Philadelphia, PA. The poster featured findings from a survey of parents and caregivers of children with special health care needs (CYSHCN), which sought to better understand the disaster information needs of their families.

The survey is part of a larger, mixed-methods study currently underway and funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The study also includes a survey of health care providers, semi-structured interviews with caregivers of CYSHCN, and focus groups with emergency management personnel and health care providers.
