Grand Rounds: "A Year in the Life of the Philadelphia Department of Public Health"
Wednesday, April 22, 2015
4:30 PM-5:30 PM
Speaker: James W. Buehler, MD, Health Commissioner, Philadelphia Department of Public Health
How does the Philadelphia Department of Public Health advance its strategic priorities, adapt to a changing landscape, fulfill ongoing responsibilities, and respond to the unexpected? In July 2014, Dr. James Buehler took a leave of absence from his faculty position at the Drexel University School of Public Health to serve as the city’s Health Commissioner. Drawing upon events and activities over the past year, Dr. Buehler will address these questions and illustrate how the Philadelphia Department of Public Health works to achieve its mission “to protect and promote the health of all Philadelphians and to provide a safety net for the most vulnerable.”
