SGO and Student Affairs have partnered you to bring you a day of mini-workshops to help you prepare for a career in public health! Learn where to search for public health jobs and internships as well as the skill sets that these positions will require. The event is free and open to the first 50 School of Public Health graduate students who register by November 15th.   

 

Schedule 

9:30am – Resume/Cover Letter Writing

Quick introduction to resume and cover letter writing including action verbs, how to describe your CBMP experience on a resume, and ways to stand out despite limited work experience


10:30am – Interviewing Workshop with Steinbright Career Development Center

Learn more about and practice behavioral interviewing

Break/Lunch

12:30pm – 1:30pm – Human Resources Professionals Panel

Panelists will discuss the best ways for students to present themselves in the job search (i.e. interview strategies, resume tips, networking tricks, etc.)

LinkedIn, social media branding, and expanding one's online network


3:35-4:00 pm – Women in the Workplace (optional)
