CMS Philadelphia Regional Office Grant Writing Training

This two day workshop will not only inform you about the grant writing process, but also allow you to experience grant writing through fast-paced group exercises that will result in a preliminary proposal draft. Topics to be addressed include the landscape of charitable giving in the US, fundraising planning, how non-profits prepare for grant writing, types of funders, elements of a proposal, budgeting, and identifying funders.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop, you will:
- Explain the role of grant writing in an organization’s fundraising plan
- Identify the elements of a successful grant proposal
- Identify at least two sources of funding
- Work in groups to draft a preliminary proposal
- Acquire tools for future proposal writing
