Wednesday, January 13, 2027
11:00 AM-12:00 PM
In the first edition of the Urban Health Collaborative's Invited Speaker
Series for 2027, the UHC invites Joan Ballester, PhD. Dr. Ballester is a research professor at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health,
where he studies the links between climate, environmental conditions, and human
health.
His research focuses on climate-related health risks, population
vulnerability and adaptation, and the development of impact-based early warning
systems that translate weather, climate, and environmental forecasts into
actionable public health information.
He leads the European Research Council (ERC)-funded EARLY-ADAPT project,
which investigates how populations across Europe are adapting to the health
challenges posed by climate change and how these responses differ across
countries, regions, cities, and social groups.
