Welcome & Pinning Ceremony 2026

Wednesday, September 16, 2026

3:30 PM-5:00 PM

This Ceremony welcomes new students to the Dornsife School of Public Health.

This event will be held both in-person and via Zoom.

The Welcome and Pinning Ceremony is a long-standing tradition that was first instituted at the School of Public Health 20 years ago by the founding Dean and humanitarian, Dr. Jonathan Mann.

Student Government Organization Officers will lead the new students in reciting the preamble to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Charter of the World Health Organization as a reflection of the school’s commitment to social justice, our vision of health as a human right, and an important step that formally welcomes all new students into the field of public health.

All incoming students will be formally welcomed and will receive pins. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend. A reception with light refreshments will be offered upon conclusion of the ceremony.

Virtual link coming soon.
