MentalHealth4All: A Multilingual Platform to Promote Access to Mental Health in Europe

Wednesday, February 11, 2026

12:00 PM-1:00 PM

Although migrants and refugees have a higher risk to suffer from mental health issues, they are less likely to access mental healthcare due to language- and culture-related barriers.

The EU-funded project “MentalHealth4All” was aimed at promoting access to mental healthcare migrants and refugees who are not proficient in the local language. Partners from nine European countries co-created with mental healthcare providers and migrants a multilingual, culturally sensitive, evidence-based digital information platform in mental healthcare. The presentation will share the outcomes of the project and discuss its strengths and limitations.

Emilio Di Maria, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Department of Health Sciences of the University of Genoa and Chief Consultant of Medical Genetics (Genoa, Italy). His scientific activity has focused on the genetics of neurodegenerative disorders and complex diseases. He is also engaged in research and actions addressing health inequalities and migrants’ health, with focus on strategies to ensure high-quality healthcare for diverse populations.

Nora Gattiglia, PhD, Assistant Professor at the University of Genoa, will co-present the MentalHealth4All project.
