Alexandra K. Heaney, PhD, assistant professor at the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health, University of California San Diego, will present "Climate Change and Fungal Diseases: Unraveling Environmental Drivers of Coccidioidomycosis."

This talk showcases Heaney's team’s work uncovering how heat, drought, dust, and land change shape coccidioidomycosis in California, and introduces new findings from Arizona. Heaney will outline the environmental pathways they have quantified and their implications for forecasting, surveillance, and climate-health preparedness.
