EOH Research Seminar

Wednesday, April 23, 2025

2:30 PM-3:30 PM

The Environmental & Occupational Health Department presents Elizabeth (Libby) S. McClure, PhD, MS, Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Faculty Project Lead of the Environmental Justice Action Research Clinic.

I’m incredibly lucky to be a community engaged researcher and longtime partner and mentee of the North Carolina Environmental Justice Network and the Concerned Citizens of West Badin Community (CCWBC). I'll be reflecting on some of the many limitations of epidemiology research as a tool for environmental justice and finding some hope in the lessons that community organizers and elders have taught me and continue to teach me in our work together.
