National Public Health Week MCH Film Screening and Discussion

Tuesday, April 8, 2025

5:30 PM-7:30 PM

The Maternal and Child Health Student Organization (MCHSO) will be screening two short yet deeply moving documentaries:

🎥 If Everyone Knew – A documentary that explores the often-silenced experiences of baby loss through the stories of three women navigating miscarriage, stillbirth, and IVF challenges.

🎥 WINN – A compelling film that follows Pamela Winn, a formerly incarcerated woman turned activist, as she fights to end the shackling of pregnant individuals in prison after experiencing a miscarriage while incarcerated.

Following the screenings, MCHSO will host open discussion on reproductive health, pregnancy loss, and the broader implications of maternal and child health policies.

The discussion will be led by Dr. Aasta Mehta, Director of the Division of Maternal, Child, and Family Health at the Philadelphia Department of Public Health. In addition to her role as director at MCFH, Dr. Mehta is a practicing obstetrician, advocate, and adjunct faculty member in the MCH Program where she teaches a course on maternal mortality.

🍿 Popcorn, snacks, and beverages will be provided!
