Mental Health among Migrants in Transit in Latin America

12:00 PM-1:00 PM
Join this Migration, Ethnicity, Race, and Health Working Group (MERHG) event on February 12.
Migrants and asylum seekers face significant threats to their mental health
and psychosocial well-being while transiting to their intended destination.
This precarious phase of migration is also when access to health and social
services is most limited. In this seminar, I will present data from a set of
ongoing and recently completed studies in Latin America that aim to
characterize the trajectories of mental health symptoms among migrants in
transit as well as the factors that influence their mental health and access to
health and protection services during migration.
