Discuss Tolerance Breaks with Emily Ansell, PhD; Tom Fontana; and Ben Cocchiaro, MD

The panel discussed the existing research on tolerance breaks, how cannabis patients and consumers can leverage existing interventions, and future directions of research into tolerance breaks.
Speakers included:
- Emily Ansell, PhD is an Associate Professor in the department of Behavioral Health at Penn State. Before starting her current role, Emily has worked as a professor of psychology at Syracuse Univeristy and Yale University. She has also run one of the only studies investigating tolerance breaks.
- Tom Fontana, LCMHC, LADC; is the Alcohol, Cannabis, and Other Drugs Initiatives Manager at the University of Vermont. Tom is author of the ‘T-Break Guide’ a free resource to help people take a tolerance break from cannabis. He is Principal Investigator of a research study seeking to gauge the effectiveness of cannabis harm reduction resources.
- Dr. Ben Cocchiaro is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the department of Family Medicine and Community Health in the College of Medicine at Drexel University. He is also a Co-Investigator on the Drexel University Medical Cannabis Research Center’s Registry Study and other Clinical Studies, including the upcoming Taper Study that focuses on investigating tolerance breaks with the assistance of tapering off commercially available cannabis products.
