Speaker Jaime Benavides, PhD, will present, "The Humility of Space: From Severed Communities to Open Streets."

Dr. Benavides is an Associate Research Scientist in the Environmental Health Sciences Department at Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University.

This talk will be a reflection about how we make cities through the lens of community severance, which measures the separation imposed by roads and traffic, and through the intended and unintended impacts of the Open Streets program in New York City.
