Welcome & Pinning Ceremony 2023
Friday, September 22, 2023
10:30 AM-11:30 AM
This Ceremony is a long-standing tradition and our opportunity to welcome
new students, faculty, and staff to the Dornsife School of Public Health.
The
Welcome and Pinning Ceremony was first instituted at the School by the founding
Dean and humanitarian, Dr. Jonathan Mann. Student government organization
officers will lead the new students in reciting the preamble to the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights and Charter of the World Health Organization as a
reflection of the school’s commitment to social justice, our vision of health
as a human right, and an important step that formally welcomes all new students
into the field of public health.
All incoming students and new faculty and staff will be formally welcomed
and will receive pins; all existing students, faculty, and staff are invited to
attend. A reception with light refreshments will be offered upon conclusion of
the ceremony.
