The Epidemiology and Biostatistics Department welcomes Joseph Craig Longenecker, MD, MPH, PhD, Vice-Dean, Academic, Faculty of Public Health Acting Chairman, Epidemiology and Biostatistics Associate Professor of Community Medicine Department of Community Medicine and Behavioral Sciences and Faculty of Medicine, Kuwait University

Dr. Longenecker will be giving a two part presentation:

  • Facilitating Connections: A Student-Centered Teaching Philosophy
  • Validation and Interpretation of Diagnostic and Screening Tests
Biography: Dr. Craig Longenecker is an Associate Professor of Community Medicine at Kuwait University School of Medicine. During his tenure at KU, Dr. Longenecker has taught a wide range of students, including medical students, medical residents, and public health students at the BSc and MPH levels. As an educator, he has taught courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including topics in clinical epidemiology, chronic disease epidemiology, research methods, community medicine, general public health, health promotion and disease prevention.As a Clinical Epidemiologist, Dr. Longenecker is interested in non-communicable diseases, particularly cardiovascular and renal disease. He was instrumental, as founding Vice-Dean, Academic, in establishing the KU College of Public Health, which now has over 150 students at various stages of their public health education, including graduates from its BSc and MPH programs. The college is fulfilling its mission of providing Kuwait with a locally-trained public health workforce.
