This Seminar features Naveen Puttaswamy, PhD, ICMR Center for Research in Air Pollution, Climate Change and Health, Department of Environmental Health, Engineering Faculty of Public Health at Sri Ramachandra University, India.

Talk Title: Household Air Pollution and Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes: Evidence from Rural–Urban Cohort Studies in India

Puttaswamy’s research focuses on understanding the role of air toxics on adverse birth outcomes, particularly low birth weight in marginalized communities.

This presentation will provide an overview of lessons learned from multiple cohort studies involving personal exposure assessment, biomonitoring and biomarker approaches, and the application of affordable sensing technologies in monitoring household air pollution.
