Friday, July 9, 2021
9:00 AM-10:00 AM
On behalf of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Dornsife's Office of Global Health is pleased to invite you a webinar on rights-based and ethical use of digital technologies in HIV and health taking place on Friday, 9 July 2021 from 9:00am-10:00am EST.
Speakers include:
- Prof. Purnawan Junadi [TBC] - ATENSI Indonesia
- Alexandrine Pirlot de Corbion - Privacy International
- Prof. Joe Amon - Drexel University's Dornsife School of Public Health
- Mandeep Dhaliwal - UNDP
As countries work towards achieving the SDG 3 targets, including ending the AIDS epidemic and achieving universal health coverage by 2030, digital technologies offer clear opportunities to improve service delivery and health systems. However, the application of these technologies is most successful when informed by ethics and human rights and nestled within broader, comprehensive approaches to addressing health outcomes.
The webinar will provide an opportunity to discuss the key considerations relevant to the use of digital technologies for HIV and health from ethical, technical and social perspectives, as well as the applicable human rights norms and standards.
The UNDP Guidance on rights-based and ethical use of digital technologies in HIV and health programmes which addresses these issues will also be presented during the webinar.
