Effects of the COVID-19 Crisis Among Families With Children in Philadelphia

Friday, February 5, 2021

11:00 AM-12:00 PM

The Migration, Ethnicity, Race and Health Group (MERHG) Colloquium presents Félice Lê-Scherban, PhD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and Training Core Co-lead at the Urban Health Collaborative at the Dornsife School of Public Health.

Talk title: "Effects of the COVID-19 Crisis among Families with Children in Philadelphia: Race, Ethnicity, and Nativity"

Although children are at lower risk of severe COVID-19 illness than adults, they and their families are at high risk for social and economic impacts from the pandemic.

Families of color and those with immigrant members may also be less likely to benefit from relief efforts due to structural barriers to access and eligibility.

Lê-Scherban will present data from two complementary surveys of families with children living in Philadelphia about their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
