Dornsife COVID-19 Journal Club Discussion

Wednesday, November 18, 2020

3:00 PM-4:00 PM

Join the Dornsife COVID-19 Journal Club for a second look at the paper “COVID-19 vaccine BNT162b1 elicits human antibody and TH1 T cell responses” by Ugur Sahin and colleagues from BioNTech in Mainz, Germany.

Thersa Sweet, PhD, and Leslie A. McClure, PhD, both from the department of epidemiology and biostatistics at Dornsife, will discuss the results of the Phase 2 clinical trial from this vaccine candidate. This paper was previously discussed (along with another from the Jenner institute) on August 19 when these were still in pre-print. Now that this paper has been published, we will revisit the results and discuss the clinical trial protocol as well as discuss the next steps in vaccine approval.
