Virtual Welcome & Pinning Ceremony

Thursday, September 17, 2020

10:00 AM-11:00 AM

Join us for our School’s virtual Pinning Ceremony, an event that formally welcomes all new students into the field of public health and new faculty and staff.

The pinning ceremony is a tradition that was first instituted at the School nearly 24 years ago by the founding Dean and humanitarian, Dr. Jonathan Mann.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Raynard Washington, PhD, MPH, deputy health director of Mecklenburg County Health Department.

The Student Government Organization Officers will lead the new members of our community in reciting the preamble to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Charter of the World Health Organization as a reflection of the School’s commitment to social justice and our vision of health as a human right.

All existing Dornsife staff, faculty and staff are invited to attend.

*Please note that pins will be mailed this year.
