Join us this coming Wednesday for a discussion of the paper “SARS-CoV-2 Community Transmission During Shelter-in-Place in San Francisco”, by Gabriel Chamie and colleagues from UCSF in collaboration with the Latino Task Force for COVID-19.
Michael LeVasseur, PhD, MPH, visiting assistant professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at Dornsife, will discuss the paper, which was uploaded to the medRxiv preprint server on June 17, 2020. The researchers conducted both PCR and antibody tests to residents of a 16-block census tract in San Francisco’s Mission district from April 25-28, 2020. They explore point prevalence and cumulative incidence of SARS-CoV-2 in this largely Latinx neighborhood as well as risk factors for recent infection and prior infection and explore phylogenetic diversity of viral strains to establish viral lineages and estimate the number of introductions of the virus to the community.
Drexel staff, faculty and students are welcome to take part in this discussion.
If you have a paper or topic you’d like us to discuss or are interested in presenting, please reach out to Michael LeVasseur at
