Coffee & Convos: featuring Dan Muldoon

Coffee & Convos offers students and public health professionals an opportunity to connect and network. Professionals will share information about their organization and experiences to help students explore work environments, industries, and public health career paths over coffee.

L. Daniel Muldoon is the director of the Division of Data Analytics in the Policy and Programs Group at CMMI. In that role, he interfaces with groups throughout the agency and manages a team that provides structured data analytics to support payment model methodology development, CMMI strategic planning, and CMMI model reporting on clinician participation, beneficiary alignment, and Medicare spending.

Muldoon has expertise in episode-based payment risk adjustment/pricing methodologies and analyzing administrative health insurance claims data. Before assuming his current role, he worked at CMMI from 2014-2017, designing and implementing the Oncology Care Model, Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Model, and Bundled Payments for Care Improvement Initiative, and as a consultant at Milliman from 2017-2019. He has an MA in Economics from the University of Virginia and a BA from Tufts University.
