Coffee & Convos: featuring Stacy Terrell

Tuesday, February 4, 2020

12:45 PM-1:45 PM

The Office of Student Affairs and Office of Public Health Practice presents Stacy Terrell, Diversity & Inclusion Manager, USAID’s Global Health Technical Professionals (GHTP) program.

Coffee & Convos offers students and public health professionals an opportunity to connect and network. Professionals will share information about their organization and experiences to help students explore work environments, industries, and public health career paths over coffee.

Terrell works to increase outreach and ultimately hiring of populations underrepresented in the field of global health. She engages with offices dedicated to expanding the agency’s diversity efforts, leads outreach across the country to fill immediate hiring needs, and shares diversity data and best practices with participants and other global health bureau staff. She previously served as the Lead for Communications, Outreach, and Diversity for the Global Health Fellows Program (GHFP) II, a predecessor program of GHTP. Prior to GHFP-II, she worked in personnel and operations management for USAID’s Office of Transition Initiatives, which supports the growth of peaceful democracies in countries emerging from conflict.

She received her MA in International Affairs from American University and her BA in International Development from The George Washington University where her research focused on inclusion of Afro-Latino populations in political spaces. Outside of work, she serves as the Director of Human Capital for a mentorship program for middle school girls at Oyster Adams Bilingual School in Washington, DC.
