Wednesday, January 22, 2020
2:30 PM-3:30 PM
The department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics presents Pasquale E. Rummo, PhD, MPH, an assistant professor of research in the Section on Health Choice, Policy and Evaluation in the department of Population Health at NYU School of Medicine.
Rummo published work involves understanding major threats to causal inference in neighborhood food environment research to better inform policy changes related to the prevention of obesity.
His recent work involves examining the impact of nutrition-related policies on diet practices and chronic disease risk factors, with a focus on high-risk subgroups; as well as drawing attention to disparities in obesity and obesity-related risk factors at the local level. His goal is to combine his current areas of expertise (nutrition science, epidemiology, secondary data analysis) with new scientific disciplines and skills (behavioral economics theory, experimental design, and aging and health).
