12:00 AM-12:00 AM
The Dornsife Global Development Scholars Program is a fully-funded, experiential learning opportunity open to all Drexel students across every major and matriculation level.
Dornsife Scholars work alongside World Vision International, a major international non-government organization (INGO) and the largest distributor of water around the world, on humanitarian efforts that achieve all U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to the global agenda prioritizing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
While gaining international experience in rural parts of sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America or Southeast Asia from 3 to 6 months, Dornsife Scholars address 16 cross-cutting themes in WASH such as:
- Agriculture
- Climate change
- Culture
- Economic development
- Health education
- Disability inclusion
- Social policy
- and a host of other areas.
The Dornsife Global Development Scholars Program develops global stewards that are catalysts for change in a forever changing world, and exhibitors of a higher level of awareness, empathy and cultural competence.
In addition to receiving an intensive pre-departure training rooted in social justice and health as a human right, each Dornsife Scholar receives ongoing field support for both personal and project-related development.
The 2020 cohort will examine the Socioeconomic Impact of WASH in West and East Africa.
To be considered as a priority candidate, completed
applications must be submitted by November 9, 2019
to Idris Robinson. The regular decision deadline for all other
applications is December 1, 2019.
