Sherman, Dornsife School of Public Health DrPH candidate in Health Management and Policy Department defends her dissertation, Comparative Analysis of Areas with Buffer Zones vs. Areas without Buffer Zones: Assessing the Impact of Anti-Abortion Protestors on Patient Experiences Characterized by Emotional and Psychological Responses. This study seeks to assess patient experiences by determining the emotional impact that anti-abortion protestors have on women seeking an abortion as well as the effectiveness of buffer zone legislation. Another goal is to assess the emotional responses to determine if the negative impact experienced due to anti-abortion protestors is lessened due to the buffer zone.
