Trauma Warriors Film Screening

Friday, October 14, 2016

6:00 PM-8:00 PM

Join us for a film screening of Trauma Warriors followed by a panel discussion about autism and trauma led by Dr. Valerie Paradiz, director of the Autistic Global Initiative, and Dr. Connor Kerns, Assistant Research Professor at the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute.

The 40‐minute film features adults with autism as they discuss the effects of trauma in childhood and their survivorship stories as adults. Many people with autism experience trauma and are bullied at school or as adults, harassed at the workplace or in public, often leading them down the difficult path of developing other disorders such as PTSD. This event is hosted by the Life Course Outcomes Research Program and the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute, and is free and open to the public.
