Thursday, February 18, 2016

5:00 PM-12:00 AM

Are you interested in studying global health in Sub-Saharan Africa this summer?

On Thursday, February 18th at 5pm in Nesbitt Hall on the 7th Floor, we will be having have our annual SeneGambia informational meeting. Learn more information about summer 2016 PBHL 708 course that culminates in a faculty-led field experience to Senegal and The Gambia. The theme of this 6-credit graduate course is on maternal and child health, as well as healthcare infrastructure.

The course begins online with site and theme specific training, required readings, a pre-departure orientation, as well as global health ethics and cross-cultural training assignments. Students will then travel as a class to West Africa for the 2-3 week field experience to complete a daily itinerary of site visits and be mentored through the overall field experience by the course instructors in collaboration with preceptors from partnering NGOs, international agencies, and the Ministry of Health.

All travel expenses for the field experience to West Africa—including airfare and lodging—are included in the Drexel tuition for this course (and students may be eligible to use their financial aid).
