(she/her/hers)
Doctoral Intern

Brianna Pointer, MA (she/her) is completing her doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Auburn University and is currently a doctoral intern at Drexel University. She has worked in university counseling centers and healthcare settings, helping people navigate life transitions, relationship concerns, stress, anxiety, identity exploration, and other challenges.

Brianna believes that a sense of connection and belonging is an important part of well-being. She views counseling as a collaborative process where clients can better understand themselves, explore patterns in their relationships, and work toward lives that feel meaningful and fulfilling. Her goal is to create a space where clients feel supported, understood, and empowered to make changes that are important to them.

She is especially interested in helping people strengthen their relationships, build meaningful connections, and develop a greater sense of belonging. Brianna is passionate about working with Black women and other historically marginalized communities and strives to create a supportive and affirming environment where clients feel seen, valued, and respected.

Brianna's research focuses on relationship experiences and satisfaction among African American women, reflecting her broader interest in connection, belonging, and the role relationships play in well-being. She has presented her research at state and national conferences and enjoys exploring ways research can inform her work with clients.

Outside of work, Brianna enjoys reading, traveling, and exploring new restaurants, and is always excited to discover a new favorite book or hidden food gem.
