Millicent Cahoon, MA
(she/her/hers)Millicent Cahoon MA (she/hers) is a 2025–2026 doctoral intern at Drexel University, where she provides clinical services to students at the University's counseling center. Her clinical work centers on supporting college students navigating identity development, role transitions, and the mental health impacts of systemic oppression. Millicent is especially committed to working with students from historically marginalized communities and draws on decolonized, liberation-focused frameworks to create an affirming therapeutic space. She approaches her work through an interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) lens, emphasizing the importance of relationships, belonging, and community care in the college experience.
Millicent is also a doctoral candidate in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Louisville. Her research centers on social justice, healing from racial trauma, and the professional and personal impact of mental health professionals participating in community activism. She has presented her work at national conferences and remains committed to bridging the gap between clinical practice, community engagement, and systemic change.
In her free time, Millicent enjoys playing with her two cats, taking walks on the river trail, or trying new, trendy food spots.
