Mind Your Heart

Mind Your Heart is an NIH-funded trial for a group-based, healthy lifestyle intervention for adolescent girls ages 14-19 years old. Participants in this study will be randomized into either an acceptance-based or health education treatment. Adolescents in both groups attend group sessions, which start off in-person and occur weekly before transitioning to Zoom), where they will receive support from two healthy lifestyle coaches. Sessions will occur over the course of six months and will include activities like an exercise class, a meal-prepping session, and dedicated time to build skills for improving diet, physical activity, and overall health.

Mind Your Heart also includes 5 assessments intended to see how effective the group treatment sessions are. These assessments include completing surveys, an interview, and having measurements like blood pressure, height, weight, and body composition taken.

We are recruiting participants who live in the Greater Philadelphia area or are able to come to Drexel University for in-person assessments and weekly group sessions.
