Save the Date: Kaczmarczik Lecture and Science Fair, March 4, 2027

Thursday, March 4, 2027

12:00 PM-1:30 PM

The Kaczmarczik Lecture is a significant event at Drexel University. For nearly 30 years, guest lecturers have included renowned scientists from around the world who present on topics that range from mapping the universe to revolutions in fundamental physics.

'Kaczmarczik Day' features a lively science fair for local high school students. Join us for exciting science demonstrations and exhibits with brief, engaging presentations that cover a wide range of physics research topics.

On March 4, 2027, we proudly welcome Jo Dunkley, PhD, the Joseph Henry Professor of Physics and Astrophysical Sciences at Princeton University. Professor Dunkley's research is in cosmology, where she studies the origins and evolution of the universe, and connects cosmological theory, data, and statistical methods. She is especially interested in the earliest moments of the universe’s history, and in understanding the composition of the cosmos including its invisible dark matter.

Dunkley currently works on the Atacama Cosmology Telescope and Simons Observatory in northern Chile, and previously worked on NASA’s Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe and ESA’s Planck satellite.

This event is free and open to the public.

Registration for the lecture opens on Dec. 2, 2026. Until then, we invite you to check out our past Kaczmarczik Lecturers.
