Between Drexel University (United States) and Savitribai Phule Pune University (India)

These are Drexel University’s International Collaborative Master of Science Programs with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU / PU), which was formerly known as University of Pune (India). During this two-year program, the students will study the Drexel approved curriculum at SPPU campus in Pune, India in the first year. In the second year, students land at Drexel University campus for the completion of remaining studies. The successful students would be awarded a Drexel MS degree in Biomedical Engineering or MS in Biomedical Science.

About Pune University

SP Pune University is a second largest university system in India, and consistently among top 10 universities (2018, ranking 7th). Founded in 1949 as public state university, headquartered in metropolitan city of Pune, having multiple campuses. Recently, PU is named after Mrs. Savitribai Phule, a social reformer, who had joined her husband Mahatma Jyotirao Phule in founding India’s first girl’s school in 1848 at Pune. Being educational hub and institution of excellence PU is known as ‘Oxford of East’ (called by first Prime Minister, Mr. Nehru (1950), which ranks first among Indian universities having largest foreign student population (and thus high diversity). Application Requirements

For Candidates: During this MS in Biomedical Engineering or MS in Biomedical Science program, the students will complete a minimum 15 or more course credits at SPPU, Pune, that are pre-approved for this program through DU-SPPU project or in consultation with graduate program directors. The student needs to apply online, showing their intention to join DU-SPPU Collaborative Program in the “Letter of Statement”.
