Connect to a Graphic Design inkjet printer from a Mac

You can follow these steps to connect to a Graphic Design inkjet printer from a Mac.

  Note: If your device doesn't have up-to-date software for the Graphic Design inkjet printers, it might not work, or might have limited functionality. Before connecting to a printer, download the Canon PIXMA PRO‐100 printer driver for your operating system and follow their installation instructions.

Before you begin, make sure you connect to Drexel's DragonFly3 wireless network.

Connect from a Mac

  1. Select Apple  > System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.

  3. Select the plus (+) sign.

  5. In the Add dialog box, select the IP tab.

  7. Enter the host name of the Graphic Design printer as the address, and then choose Line Printer Daemon ‐ LPD from the Protocol list.

      Note: inkjet01.westphal.drexel.edu is an example host name. You will enter the host name that is labeled on the front of the Graphic Design inkjet printer that you want to connect to from your Mac.

  9. Choose Select Software from the Use list.

  11. In the Printer Software dialog box, choose Canon PRO‐100 series, and then select OK.

  13. Select Add. The printer is connected to your Mac.

    Important: Every Graphic Design inkjet printer has a different host name. You will need to repeat these steps for each printer that you want to connect to from your Mac.
