Design & Merchandising Student Sophia Rhodes Selected for Women@Dior Mentorship

March 3, 2022

Design & Merchandising student Sophia Rhodes has been selected for the UNESCO & Women@Dior Leadership and Sustainability Education and Mentorship Program of 2022-2023.

"I am so excited and honored to have been selected as one of 25 students in the Americas for this program,” says Sophia. “This unique experience will provide me with an executive mentor from the House of Dior, as well as access to exclusive classes that will allow me to further develop my leadership skills and passions for creativity, sustainability, and inclusivity in the fashion industry. I am looking forward to learning from prestigious leaders in the industry through an interview series provided by Dior, and I am thrilled that this program will allow me to participate in the Dream for Change Project, where I can develop a sustainable initiative for Christian Dior Couture. The program culminates with a Global Conference in Paris, France, where I will be invited to network and learn from executives and leaders in the fashion industry from around the world.”

Sophia is also a student in the Pennoni Honors College with concentration in merchandise planning and buying. This is her second year serving as President of the Retail and Design Club, and she is the National Retail Federation (NRF) Student Ambassador for Drexel University. Sophia is a member of the Women in Business Club and Public Relations Society of America on campus and a member of College Fashionista outside of Drexel. This spring, Sophia will begin her co-op experience as an Associate Buyer for the TJX Companies Inc., and she has held a Merchandise Planning internship with QVC.

“I would sincerely like to thank my Parents, Susan and Douglas Rhodes, who have always inspired me to be ambitious, and all of my Design & Merchandising professors who have supported and encouraged me throughout my time at Drexel University,” says Rhodes. “I am so excited to make the most out of this program and meet the other ambitious and inspiring women at Women@Dior!"

Congratulations to Sophia on this exciting opportunity!
