Entertainment & Arts Management Alum and Non-Profit Co-Founder Recognized in Forbes 30 Under 30

Victoria Wilson (Entertainment & Arts Management '19) and Evan Ehlers (Close School of Entrepreneurship) were recognized among Forbes 30 Under 30 for 2023 in the “Social Impact” Category.

Wilson and Ehlers are the co-founders of Sharing Excess, a regional non-profit that collects surplus food from grocery stores, wholesalers and retailers and redistributes to communities in need. They've shared 13.1 million pounds-- $24.4 million worth-- of food, diverting 47.9 million pounds of carbon diverted from landfills.

They took Sharing Excess national this year with a partnership with Beast Philanthropy, one of the largest YouTubers in the world. With 185 food business partners and 263 community partners such as schools and health centers, Sharing Excess has launched open-source technology to help others adapt their model in more communities.
