Nineteenth Amendment, a Brooklyn-based online marketplace for emerging fashions, works on an innovative model that supports rising designers and bridges the gap between design and delivery. The company’s co-founders will visit Drexel on January 28 to discuss the marriage between creative design and entrepreneurial success, exploring progressive production, sales, and marketing in the fashion industry. Amanda Curtis, Nineteenth Amendment CFO and cofounder and Gemma Sole, co-founder, will be in discussion with Philadelphia Inquirer style columnist Elizabeth Wellington from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the URBN Annex Screening Room (3401 Filbert Street). We’re partnered for this event with the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator, which supports and promotes Philadelphia’s emerging fashion designers and runs an annual Designer-in-Residence program.
Nineteenth Amendment serves as a showcase for tomorrow’s next big designers, providing a platform for launching into the fashion industry via scalable, on-demand manufacturing that lets designers sell inventory-free. It also creates an online community for shoppers and presents them with pre-sale discount opportunities to exclusive designer collections from around the globe.
The discussion will be the kickoff event of the 2016 Philadelphia Fashion Incubator Public Program Series.
