The Post Production Lab is open for students and is stocked with six Mac Pros running Windows 7, with three that dual boot into OSX. These workstations are loaded with Blackmagic Intensity Pro video cards which drive a third display dedicated for full screen Rec. 709 video. Each workstation contains the entire Adobe CS6 Master Suite, Avid Media Composer 6.5, NVIDIA CUDA capable GPUs and other utilities.

Drexel’s audio classroom offers students a first rate facility to learn the art of audio field production and sound design within this 16 seat room. 

The Audio Post 5.1 Classroom is equipped with an Intel i7 dual boot iMac boasting 32 GB of memory, Pro Tools 10 with a MBOX 3 Pro interface, the MCDSP plugin suite, 5 Neumann KH120 speakers, a KRK subwoofer and a large 42” monitor for video playback. The machine is also loaded with the Adobe CS6 suite. Students use this suite to mix films in 5.1 surround and review final projects.

The audio post classroom is also equipped with a foley pit to allow students to create their own sound effects for projects.

Drexel’s Audio Post Suite 1 is equipped with a dual boot Mac Pro, Pro Tools 10, a DigiDesign 003 rack interface, Mackie speakers, Tannoy Speakers and a myriad of rack based monitoring equipment. Audio Post 1 also contains a booth for recording voice overs and ADR. 

Students learn how to mix audio and record Voiceovers utilizing Audio Post 1 in the Audio Post class.

Drexel offers a large shooting studio complete with overhead lighting grid. This room is used for instruction of cinematography and lighting. Students also utilize the shooting studio to shoot projects for classes or independent projects. The shooting studio is also equipped with a green screen on a cyc.

The Large Screening room is an eighty seat theater equipped with the latest 1080p stereoscopic 3D projection and 7.1 surround sound technology. The theater is also equipped with a Western Digital Live streaming box so students playback their high definition projects off of USB hard drives and a Sony Playstation 3 for Blu-ray & DVD playback.

Drexel’s Color Grading Room offers students a first rate facility to learn the art of color correction and stereoscopic grading.

Drexel is home to multiple color grading suites, complete with Flanders Scientific and Sony hero monitors, Avid Artist Color Control Surface and multiple Tangent Wave Control Surfaces. The flagship suite is a 3D capable unit running the full version of DaVinci Resolve 9, Blackmagic Extreme 3D+ video card, Blackmagic Ultrascope, Tangent Wave Control Surface, GT120 GUI GPU, GTX 570 CUDA render GPU, Flanders Scientific LM-2340TD-3D hero monitor and a loaded HP Z820 CPU.
